July Beauty Favourites 2015

Can't believe its August already and we (I mean, my boyfriend and I) are definitely entering a panic mode as our wedding ceremony is getting really close. OMG!!! Its next month and we haven't even start sending out invitation cards!!!

Speaking about last minute preparations, here is my July favourites that I'm obsessing like no other...

1. Tanya Burr Everyday Flutter False Lashes
I just can't get over how natural they look on my eyes. As a hooded lid owner, I can't wear full frontal lashes and can only befriend those with half strips. Her false lashes are just so easy to put on (with no quirky unbendable bits) and the strips are so thin that it's almost undetectable.

2. Shiseido Eyelash Curler
Moving on with the lashes mode, I am in love with this curler. And I can vouch hands down that this curler is much better than the Shu Uemura ones. It suits the shape of my eyeball (or rather the outer skin layer that covers the eyeball but you get what I mean) and I do not have to worry about skin clamping with this (as I always do with the SU). Huge thumbs up.

3. MAC Cinderella Beauty Powder in Mystery Princess
I'm going to skip my gushing over the cute pretty packaging and go in straight to the product itself. It acts like a highlighter on my skin with tiny sparkly bits and a nice sheen. I just love this over my cheekbone and on the bridge of my nose. Perks up my non-existence high point on my face :)

4. Dior Eye Reviver Illuminating Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette 001
Sorry guys as this is a LE product. But if you hit the Dior counter now, I bet they still have some stock left. First of all, I still can't over how beautiful the embossment is. Secondly, the colours included in this palette (white, beige, taupe brown, metallic brown with a hint of purple undertone, dark brown and a black eyeliner) compliments each other well or just on its own makes this the perfect everyday palette. And last but not least is how pigmented and buttery soft the texture is. Its just a high quality palette that I think neutral lovers should have.

5. Clinique Lip Pop in Plum Pop 14
This one is definitely a new found love as its so creamy and sits comfortably on the lips. Although semi-opaque in pigmentation but its definitely buildable to your preferred opacity. Plum Pop is more of a cool berry with pink undertone, great for normal day wear to  Lovez...

6. MAC Toledo Lipstick in Oxblood
Another LE item from MAC, I love how natural looking my lips look after a coat of this lippie. I guess its that kind of your-lip-but-better lipstick and even application is super duper easy as its creamy. The colour leans toward coral but not starking-ly so as the beige tones the bright colour down. Even though it does not last long on me (3 hours max), I didn't mind a bit to re-apply this baby throughout the day.

7. Burberry Sheer Concealer in No.2 Soft Beige
I don't usually rotate my concealer and the concealer that comes to its turn is this Burberry number. Even though its name is Sheer but it seriously ain't the case. It manages to cover my undereyes dark rings nicely without caking or settle into my fine lines. Although the longevity isn't great (starts oxidising in the middle of the day), but the fact that it gives a subtle radiant finish and makes my skin oh-so-natural deserves loads of love from me.

So there you have it, my favourite items that I'm currently digging hard last month. What have you been liking lately?

MAC Wash and Dry Collection

First of all I want to apologise for my lack of update as life's been really crazy with repainting houses and attending sports day.

Today I'm gonna write about MAC's latest collection, Wash and Dry. As you may have already seen like a bazillion pictures of it online, I would like to share mine as I think they are amazing in terms of packaging.

I'd say, well done MAC for making it uber pretty and making everyone rushing to get it. I was really lucky as I got them from Changi Airport before it is released islandwide on 1st June. This means, nothing was sold out on the stand ^_^

You can totally imagine my excitements when I was at the MAC counter taking my time to browse thru everything (well, not exactly in a relaxing mode as I was supposed to catch a plane an hour later). These are the items that caught my eyes big time.

Ombre gradual Green Orange/Red and Yellow. This packaging is simply gorgeous to the core. Even some of the products are astounding.

Take for example these 2 pieces. The Freshen Up Highlight Powder and Dual Face 125SE Brush. Its absolutely unique I can't wait to try them out.

Yup, the brush has a dual monochrome face indeed with luxurious white on one and mysterious black on the other. The highlight has this gorgeous pattern on the top. But I did read some review that its more like a blush than a highlight once the top layer wears off.

Next is the Studio Sculpt Defining Bronzing Powder in Golden Rinse. Its like nice warm tone bronzer with tiny flecks in it. But I just love how MAC make this print into this 3D washboard thingy.

Last but not least are the Lipstick Satin in Steam Heat and Lipglass in Hot/Cold. I've chosen red from the four as I don't do well with nudes (they make me look dead). I love my deeper darker colour and I was not disappointed with my choice. And nevertheless, the packaging makes them all the more beautiful.

So, if you happen to pass by a MAC counter, I suggest you go check them out as their brushes and some of the blushes are sold out. Get them before its too late >.<

April 2015 Favourites

Its that time of the year again and boy am I excited this time round. All the products that I've been loving is seriously the bomb.com and just couldn't get enough of them.

No new released items are included here as these are like my holy grail of all makeups. So let's jump right in shall we?

1. The Balm Nudetude Eyeshadow Palette
Extremely pigmented, soft and creamy, blends easily and stays put on my lids without fallouts. Enough said.

2. The Body Shop All in One Instablur (Eyes)
A primer for the eyelids to ensure eyeshadow stay all day. Love that its colourless and waterproof.

3. Maybelline Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara
I like how this hold my curls and have very little smudging at the end of the day which is big for me as I tend to get smudges under my eyes so frequently with even the toughest waterproof mascara. Love the size of the applicator too, I like my stick small -__-'''

4. 17 18 Hour Stay Time Concealer
This, is freaking, AMAZING!! I always get creases at my fish tail and this doesn't do that to me. I love how emollient this is which makes blending a dream but once it sets, it just stays put. Also, the coverage is more of a medium to full thus I don't feel the cakiness and heaviness on my eyes. Instant love.

5. Benefit Gimme Brow
OK, this stuff, is a life saviour. When I'm on a hurry, I whack this in less than 30 seconds for both eyes and I'm ready to go. Literally idiot proof. It tames my unruly brows and also fills up sparse spaces. The spoolie is also small enough for me to manoeuvre without worrying it getting all over my face. Definitely my favourite.

6. Benefit Posie Balm
This is so moisturising on the lips and I love how it gives a bit of pigmentation to make your lips look healthier. Even the packaging is oh-so-pretty. But beware of the price though as its about S$29 and you can get cheaper alternatives that does the job equally well.

7. Chanel Rouge Coco (the previous version)
I love this freaking range. The pigmentation is on point, the longevity is sufficient, it doesn't bleed into my lip lines and the packaging is so sleek and sophisticated. Couldn't get enough of them and intend to expand my collection with the reformulated ones. ^_^

8. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
If you are a follower of this blog, you'll know that I couldn't live without this foundation. Its dewy, light to medium coverage but buildable, blends easily with fingers and gives you that radiant healthy finish. It lasted quite well on me before oxidising at the 8th hour.

9. MAC Studio Fix
This has been a holy grail of many and I shall jump on bandwagon and claim that it is for me too. It sets my makeup and absorbs any shine on my T-zone. Just a great finishing product for my makeup routine.

So, what have you been enjoying lately? Would love to know your recommendations.

March Favourites 2015

This post comes a bit late but better late then never right? ^_^

So here are my March Favourite products and I do love them to bits. Take a look at what I've been using constantly in the third month of the year.

1. Lancome Tonique Comfort Toner
- Love using this with a cotton pad. Noticed that I seldom seem to breakout after using this product. Thumbs up from me.

2. Creme Simon Brightening Detox Micellar Water Makeup Remover
- Love how this makeup remover doesn't sting my eyes (I'm looking at you Chanel Eye Makeup Remover) and takes my waterproof eyeliner in just 1 swipe. Impressive.

3. The Face Shop Hydrogel Golden Eye Patch
- This feels great on the skin. Love how lux it looks in the pot and also feels hydrating under the eyes. Although I have yet to see visible effects on my wrinkles, I felt all pampered thus bonus points for this product.

4. Nars Audacious Lipstick in Audrey + MAC Lipgloss in Slippers (Cinderella Collection)
- This combo is absolutely gorgeous. The bold tenacious red from the lipstick compliments well with the sheer shimmery gloss, making your lips appear fuller and sexier. No kidding. I seldom apply full on red lipstick but this combi gets me loving the bold bright colour like instantly.

5. Fragonard Diamant Parfum
- If classy, luxurious, sophisticated, intoxicating and rich were to be combined to a perfume, this would definitely be it. It has a strong musky citrusy scent (with a sweetness undertone) that lasted all day long. My definitely go-to scent if I'm on a romantic date.

6. Etude House Stippling Brush
- Cheap and with good quality, this brush is such a dream. Absolutely love the pink handle too.

7. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede
- Another perfume favourite for this month as I just couldn't pass up this amazing floral scent from JM. Totally reminds me of a beautiful garden filled with booming flowers. And it doesn't make my head ache too which is a plus point.

8. MAC Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Sextet (for 6)
- Couldn't believe that I would love an eyeshadow palette from MAC. Normally its a hit and miss kind of consistency with MAC's eyeshadow palette but this one manage to win my heart over. The overall performance was good with all eyeshadows (except for the deep purple one) being smooth, buttery, pigmented and non-patchy. Love it to bits.

9. Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation
- This smells like chocolate heaven. I usually prefer liquid foundation but this nifty foundie gets me excited. Its a light to medium coverage but definitely buildable and I just love how it takes my forehead shine away whenever I touch up during the day. Love that it has a mirror inside in it too which means its good for travelling.

So there you have it, my 10 favourites for the March 2015. What's your favourite for March or April? Do let me know ^_^

The Little Black Beauty Box April Edition | StylexStyle

April's Edition of TLBBB from StylexStyle is all about pampering yourself and making you look like a Star (like literally, a famous star from Hollywood) with all the inner glow and healthy skin.

For those who are new to this, basically its a subscription beauty box (which it doesn't allow you to subscribe a couple of months but you have to order the box monthly) and you get 9 to 10 products for just S$22.90. Brands included are of high end like Biotherm, Dior, Guerlain or even Benefit which items are definitely worth the money you paid for.

So for this month's, skincare and body care is emphasised, from shampoo, to body lotion and to moisturisers. Even nail tools are included too which is quite a surprise. There are also new brands included like Angel which is a Korean brand.

1. Angel Pure Essence
2. Angel Moisturising Cream
3. Origins Rejuvenating Treatment
4. Sulwhasoo Luminature Essential Finisher
5. Biotherm Purefect Skin 2 in  1 Pore Mask
6. SP Shine Defence Mask
7. Belif Body Bomba
8. DKNY My NY Perfume
9. Kiehl's Dark Spot Solution
10. Tweezerman Nail File

All in all, I do kinda like this box but it somehow fell short compared to its predecessors. I think maybe its because of the inclusion of a new brand which I never heard of and I'm not such a huge fan of Korean skincare.

However, one can always expect or anticipate that the next box would be better ^_^.

Top 10 Favourite Perfumes | Chanel, Gucci, Juicy Couture etc.

Its been a while since I last blogged and I am truly apologise on that. So much stuff has been going on lately and I have to say I'm indeed overwhelmed by it.

In order to not let my readers down, here is a roundup of some of the perfumes that I've been wearing constantly (and kinda loving).

Do excuse the blurry picture, shaky hands :P

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia
- Its a sweet fruity scent that doesn't overwhelmed the sensitive nose. Welcomed by most of the ladies I had known of and its the best selling scent from the brand. A definite top favourite in my list.

The Body Shop English Dawn White Gardenia
- White floral tones with a musky layering, great for spring time and day wear.

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
- Floral and powdery but at the same time sophisticated grown up. Love this for special occasions.

Paris Hilton Perfume
- Sweet all the way with a huge fruity and warm undertone. Perfect for girly nights out. Oh hey, and I did received tons of compliments from the guys too when wearing this. A dark horse indeed.

Victoria Secret Pure Day Dream
- Kind of sweet, kind of musky with a hint of floral. This scent reminds me of the evening sunset with a cocktail in one hand and my lover in the other. Sensual...

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur
 - Intoxicating but yet florally feminine. This scent is light enough to wear in the day but can be layered for a more enhanced smell.

Taylor by Taylor Swift
- Love the mixture of fruity and floral scent in this. There seems to be a deep woody scent wafting though all the femininity. It leans toward a more mature smell but doesn't spell grandma. A one-of-a-kind scent.

Gucci Flora by Gucci
- This smells expensive, like a rich lady sipping on her cup of tea at the pavement way with a cigarette in her hand. But a hint of floral paves its way thru bringing out the feminine side of her otherwise rich aura.

DKNY Be Delicious
- Fruity, young and fresh. A spritz of this perfume gets all your senses awakens just that zat **clicking finger**

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
- Love the complicated smell of this perfume. Its like fruity but not quite there, musky and spicy but isn't sharp enough to be detected, floral but yet oh-so-rich. And I love the bottle too, like some holographic display.

So here are my take on how the perfume smells on me and how I perceive their scents thru my nose. My collection is definitely growing and maybe I'll write up another post to showcase all of them for you guys in the future ^_^.

What's your favourite perfume of all time?

SKII Pitera Essence Set Red Flower Edition Review

SKII has always been one of my favourite brands since I was in Japan (as its sold cheap there) as their products work well with my skin.

Of course there's the ever popular and highly rated Facial Treatment Essence which claims to be miracle water. How miracle you say? Well, it does really well in brightening the skin and even-ing out colour skintone.

You might have know by now (its been advertising everywhere anyway) that SKII was created after a bunch of scientist discovered that the Sake Brewers hand are baby soft hence Pitera was developed (derived from fermented rice) and incorporated into skincare. For more info, click here.

The brand and products were then born to enhance youth and beauty to women of all ages (or so it claims).

I am a sceptic when it comes to claims like this but I couldn't deny that after 2 weeks of slapping the essence onto my skin, I notice that my breakouts are not as frequent and my skin looks brighter. I didn't see improvements on my wrinkles though however I did observed that dull patchy discoloured spots becomes lighter. Its a thumbs up from me.

I even manage to convert my boy to use it and he likes how light weight it felt (note that guys are very picky with their skincare as they don't fancy heavy creams or the sticky residue that rich skincare products leave).

A word of cautions is that the essence literally smells like fermented rice. Its like pungent beer that has been left on the counter for a couple of days (or it seems so to me).

But all in all, I kinda like this set (although I didn't notice anything different after using the lotion and mask) as its priced at S$99 only (I bought it off Luxola hence cheaper when discount coupon is used) with a beautiful flower design on the package.

If you guys follow me for a while you might have know that I'm a huge fan of The Little Black Beauty Box from StylexStyle. Zoella Beauty Range

Hey, I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!! Can't believe I took around 2 weeks to recover. Seriously -__-'''

After giving much thought, I've decided to turn Hints of Peppermint to a beauty blog. It's weird I know since my passion is not just beauty but other stuff as well (like food o_O). Its probably because I feel that I can relate better to beauty and I do have more knowledge in describing beauty stuff rather than food.

But fear not my lovely people as if I find something interesting to blog (like a vacation or food) I'll squeeze into this blog besides posting my usual Monday and Thursday routine post.

Alright, with that out of the way, I wanna mention something about the Zoella Beauty Range.

I freakin' LOVE it!!!

Something about the range just shouts pink and girly which is totally up my alley. Its a pity that so many of the items sold out (during the time of my purchase which is a few days after its launched) and a couple of them unable to be shipped to Singapore (i.e. Body mist).

So I manage to get myself a makeup pouch (how cute does it look!!) and Soak Opera (can be used as a bubble bath or shower gel). Look at them... So cute aren't they?

A close up on the guinea pig with specs :D

If you are interested, they are sold in Superdrug in the UK and also online at Feelunique.com. Her products are absolutely affordable too.

Little Black Beauty Box January Edition | StylexStyle

Once again, StylexStyle has outdone themselves with January's Little Black Beauty Box (LBBB). Although we do know beforehand what's to be expected (Dior as shown on their website), I still felt the excitement when I received it.

All in its black glory

Nice touch from Sharon (Founder cum MediaCorp Artist) to remind us that the time to list down your new year's resolution is here!!! ^_^ Well, that pretty much sums up what my resolutions are.

Look at these gorgeous packaging. I just can't get over the Dior products overload. Who would have expect there will be 10 products from the brand (I mean, its pretty damn pricey afterall).

So here are the list of products included in the box:
1. Dior Capture Totale Compact Powder in 020 Light Beige
2. Dior J'adore Perfume
3. Dior Multi Perfection Eye Treatment
4. Dior Total Youth Skincare Intensive Replumping Action Serum (wow, that's a mouthful)
5. Dior Intensive Night Restorative Cream
6. Dior One Essential Intense Skin Detoxifying Booster Serum (alright, now I know what's the function of this serum)
7. Dior Dream Skin Global Age-defying Skincare
8. Dior Multi Perfection Cream
9. Dior Miss Dior Perfume
10. Dior Gentle Cleansing Milk

And can we just take a moment to savour the cuteness of the 2 miniature perfume bottle. How adorable are they? Its a pity that its not the spray kind so I might take some time to finish them up. I mean, I don't normally go for dabbing perfume but I personally love the scents a lot.

So if you are interested in purchasing, click here to their website (Note I'm not endorsed by StylexStyle as much as I'd like to -__-''').
