Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel Review

I have been battling with dark eye circles and puffy under eye area for as long as I can remember (to be precise, its since I start working). Its just a nuisance that these buggers make me look haggard and depressed.

And since then, I have been on the constant search for the best eye cream ever. Until I found this product...

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel

I got attracted to the many reviews on Instagram and Blogs that this innovative product helps with reducing puffiness and lighten dark eye rings. Instantly, I knew I have to get it.

This eye gel comes in a sleek tube but with an unexpected small volume of 10ml (standard eye creams comes in 15ml quantity). I was quite bummed that I paying much more for something that's not considered high end but when I open the cap, all depressing feeling just went away...

The applicator is just too cute. Shaped like an iron, it is marketed to smooth out puffiness and fine lines. I have still yet to attest to it being able to reduce fine lines, but I was quite happy on how it lessen the puffiness of my under eye area.

What I even love more about this applicator is that it has this cooling surface that makes application very shiok (meaning, relaxing and euphoric). Using this after a long day of staring at computer screens at work is such a revelation (maybe I am exaggerating a bit but you get the point). Instant de-stress tool I'd call it.

Now, onto the gel itself. Its really light weight (although I do prefer my eye products to be creamier and thicker) and easily absorbed into the skin. Of course, the cons of it being light weight and easily absorbed is that I have the tendency of using up more product than I should.

I do feel that it helps brighten up my eyes and with the frequent use of this product, my dark eye circles seemed to lighten a tad bit. I am definitely approving this eye gel for its effectiveness in which many others couldn't do the job.

Overall, I enjoyed this product thoroughly. However, I would repurchase only if I run out of options to buy as its not on the cheaper end of the price spectrum. But don't get me wrong, this product is indeed one-of-a-kind and Benefit definitely up its game in terms of skincare.

Sold at S$45 at all Sephora outlet.

April 2015 Favourites

Its that time of the year again and boy am I excited this time round. All the products that I've been loving is seriously the bomb.com and just couldn't get enough of them.

No new released items are included here as these are like my holy grail of all makeups. So let's jump right in shall we?

1. The Balm Nudetude Eyeshadow Palette
Extremely pigmented, soft and creamy, blends easily and stays put on my lids without fallouts. Enough said.

2. The Body Shop All in One Instablur (Eyes)
A primer for the eyelids to ensure eyeshadow stay all day. Love that its colourless and waterproof.

3. Maybelline Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara
I like how this hold my curls and have very little smudging at the end of the day which is big for me as I tend to get smudges under my eyes so frequently with even the toughest waterproof mascara. Love the size of the applicator too, I like my stick small -__-'''

4. 17 18 Hour Stay Time Concealer
This, is freaking, AMAZING!! I always get creases at my fish tail and this doesn't do that to me. I love how emollient this is which makes blending a dream but once it sets, it just stays put. Also, the coverage is more of a medium to full thus I don't feel the cakiness and heaviness on my eyes. Instant love.

5. Benefit Gimme Brow
OK, this stuff, is a life saviour. When I'm on a hurry, I whack this in less than 30 seconds for both eyes and I'm ready to go. Literally idiot proof. It tames my unruly brows and also fills up sparse spaces. The spoolie is also small enough for me to manoeuvre without worrying it getting all over my face. Definitely my favourite.

6. Benefit Posie Balm
This is so moisturising on the lips and I love how it gives a bit of pigmentation to make your lips look healthier. Even the packaging is oh-so-pretty. But beware of the price though as its about S$29 and you can get cheaper alternatives that does the job equally well.

7. Chanel Rouge Coco (the previous version)
I love this freaking range. The pigmentation is on point, the longevity is sufficient, it doesn't bleed into my lip lines and the packaging is so sleek and sophisticated. Couldn't get enough of them and intend to expand my collection with the reformulated ones. ^_^

8. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
If you are a follower of this blog, you'll know that I couldn't live without this foundation. Its dewy, light to medium coverage but buildable, blends easily with fingers and gives you that radiant healthy finish. It lasted quite well on me before oxidising at the 8th hour.

9. MAC Studio Fix
This has been a holy grail of many and I shall jump on bandwagon and claim that it is for me too. It sets my makeup and absorbs any shine on my T-zone. Just a great finishing product for my makeup routine.

So, what have you been enjoying lately? Would love to know your recommendations.

The 4 Foundations

I'm currently rotating between these 4 foundations by determining whether I needed a light or medium coverage.

The light coverage bases are:
1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
Technically, its not a foundation however I love the amount of coverage it offers. My skin has never looked more radiant and healthy. I like how easy it is to blend with my fingers and how light weight it felt on my skin. Literally like wearing nothing. Absolutely adore this product.

2. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
This is a classic and almost everyone seemed to like (except those with sensitive skin that they claim it breaks them out). Light but buildable coverage, this foundation makes your skin looks flawless and glowy. I like buffing this with my flat top brush which gives it a natural finish. This foundation lasts 8 hours on me before oxidising.

The medium to heavy coverage bases are:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
This has a cult going in UK and I somehow must try it for myself. I do like this foundation however, something about texture makes it hard to blend (with fingers or brush). I seldom see reviews about this foundation being difficult in application but I'm definitely not liking the time it takes me achieve a smooth face. The reason that I am still using this is because of its moisturising properties if I'm suppose to be in an air-conditioned area the whole day.

2. Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation
This is also another foundation that had me scratching my head during application time. I just can't seem to get this work. **frustrated** Another point is that when I sweat, white water droplets form on my forehead and its quite embarrassing when people are looking at them. The only reason its in my routine is because I wanted to finish the bottle (throwing it away can be so wasteful).

**Apologies on the in-activity here and the once per week posting. Life has been quite hectic and insane at the moment and there are so many things that I need to handle before I can truly sit down, relax and blog. Please bear with me as I get my life on track. Love you guys <3

4 Steps to Achieve Flawless Skin

Recently I have been complimented many times on my skin being all smooth and radiant. This of course made me really happy and I thought that I should share my tips of getting the skin that I have been "wearing"

But of course, before we jump into the makeup products that I use, skincare routine is super important too as flawless skin does 100% starts from within. I highly recommend Peter Thomas Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel which helps rid pimples and reduces pigmentation simultaneously.

1. Primer / Base
Product: Benefit The Porefessional
This paste like primer is awesome for covering pores and helps foundation clings onto skin like no other. Although its not enough to hide imperfections like scaring or blemishes, it does well in smoothing out any bumps and holes which paves a nice canvas for you to paint on your foundation.

2. Foundation
Product: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
I'm quite fortunate to have good skin (thanks mum ^_^) thus light coverage foundation has always been staple. This liquid foundation (much prefer liquid foundation as creamy types make me look cakey and powder types cling onto my dry patches) is not only light weight, but it feels like skin, doesn't cake, looks natural and has this subtle glow to it making you look like you have 8 hours of sleep. Love the nice scent of this product too. Bonus is that it has SPF15 in it (but I still recommend that you wear sun screen).

3. Powder
Product: MAC Studio Fix
Mine's a combination skin type, slight oily T-zone and dry cheeks and chin area. Thus, by the end of the day, my forehead will definitely look shiny (although some might mistaken it for radiant skin :P) and most of my foundation tends to drop off. MAC Studio Fix powder has always been a cult product and boy does it live up to its hype. I like how natural this looks after application without looking dead, like you know, whitish cast ghost-like dead skin. It also helps in keeping my fore less shiny. Thumbs up.

4. Concealer (not pictured here)
Product: Dior Star Concealer, ELF Concealer/Highlighter Duo, Clinique Airbrush Concealer
I tend to only use concealer sparingly which is under the eyes. I have really dark eye circle and sometimes when I don't get enough of sleep, I look like I got punched in the face (seriously). Thus, these concealer saves my day by having a medium coverage and non-cakey formula. I hate when concealer makes me has inverted panda eyes (for being too thick) and skins into my fish tail wrinkles. I don't normally put concealer on blemishes as I wanted them to breathe and recover faster.

So, here you go... The key products of mine that lets me achieve the face that I'm having right now. Hope that this gives you some idea how to make your skin look better.

So, what are your must-have makeup bases?

Instagram Round Up (Part 2)

So here comes the 2nd part... Instagram here

Just a side note, there won't be any posts up next week as I would like to take a break from blogging while I recover from my jetlag (yes, I have anticipated that).

Oh, and if you're curious, the countries that I'm travelling to is London -> Amsterdam -> Germany -> Austria -> Switzerland -> Italy -> France. The boy and I are joining this international group tour call Contiki (seems to be exclusive for youngsters as they impose this age restriction of under 35). Thus, there will be some days when we are guided and some days we are free to roam around which is good as we kind of have the best of both world.

Alright, enough of me babbling about my trip (you can sense how excited I am)... Enjoy...
