My Top 5 Favourite New Products from Watson

If you'd follow me on Instagram, you might know that I was invited to attend a Watson event which showcases all the new products that are going to be sold in store.

Check them out below...

So before we get into listing all the products above, I'll show you my top 5 favourites from this bunch.

Secret Day Miss Charlotte M Size 14 Pieces Sanitary Pad

Koreans really do know how to make things better by adding that touch of elegance, I mean just look at the pink girly packaging. I like it when these ladies pad are all thin and sleek, like you are not wearing a thing. Thus, these babies are actually really comfortable to wear for that time of the month.

Lactacare Daily Probiotic Supplement

In case you are not familiar with the term Probiotics, it is actually referring to microorganisms that are believe to provide health benefits when consumed, aka Easy Poop. You can bet that I've been consistently hitting the toilet after taking this supplement daily >.<

BlanX White Shock Powder White Treatment

This Italian made toothpaste and LED device is said to let you achieve whiter teeth without being abrasive and peroxide free. Sure indeed, I did not experience any gum sensitivity when using it and I like that it only took 60 seconds for the LED device to work its magic.

Lion Kyusoku Relaxing Leg Care Range

I've got to admit that I have like the driest, crack-iest (is that even a word?) and the most miserable looking heels ever. Thus, after using the heel mask, I felt that my skin did replenished some of its moisture. I won't say it 100% heals my heel after 1 use, but I can see the improvement on the dry-ness of my skin.

I do like the coolness of the gel pad for the calf too. Totally soothe my aching muscle after a long day of standing and walking.

Kinohimitsu UV Bright Grape Seed Extract (OPC)

Kinohimitsu is not a stranger brand to Singapore market as they are well known for their collagen drinks and other supplement. I kind of like how the UV Bright taste, just like grape juice or Qoo (if you love drinking Qoo you'll know what I mean). Although I couldn't vouch for the effectiveness towards Whitening and Fairness of the skin (10 bottles is definitely not enough to make a difference in my opinion), I do sense that my skin's clarity has improved immensely. My skin really did have this glow-from-within effect after consuming the whole box. Thumbs up from me.

So now, onto the others

Schwarszkopf Beology Repair Oil Serum

Suncut UV Protect Spray SPF 50+ PA++++ (this stuff is good too because I prefer my sunscreen to be lightweight and easy to apply although it does have a light sunscreen scent)

Jorubi Aloe Vera Moisturizing Lotion (if you are experiencing a dry skin day or maybe minor sun burn, do give this a try as its cooling and moisturising)

Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate (love the subtle floral fragrance and its not too heavy on the skin at all)

Makeup Items: Max Factor Velvet Matte Lipstick, Wet and Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick, Clematis Lipstick and Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Eye Liner (my holy grail currently as it doesn't smudge easily)

Naturals by Watsons Macadamia Hand Cream Rejuvenating

Get it Beauty Celabrity Aqua Mask (really liking the amount the products/lotion that comes with it, sufficient to rub it all over my body, my skin felt tight after the products is absorbed too)

Do head over to Watson to have a look at the products or to purchase.

Discovering Natural Skincare Product - Re:Erth

Brands nowadays are always on the lookout for natural ingredients to incorporate into their products to provide the greatest benefit and improve women's skin condition.

Was really intrigued when I saw the key ingredient in new skincare brand Re:Erth: Japanese White Tumeric.

First of all, let's talk about the rose gold packaging. Its ROSE GOLD!!! Enough said. The packaging has a nice weight to it and it kind of reminds me of a hybrid between glass and plastic. Its sturdy, has a simplistic design and sits beautiful on the vanity. Huge thumbs up from me.

There are 5 main products from the brand (another one not featured here is their Purifying Bar Soap), from the left:
1. Smoothing Eye Cream
2. Multi-Targeted Elixir
3. Hydrating Gel Moisturiser
4. Calming Toner
5. Clarifying Cleanser

All of these products veer towards the easy-to-use, fuss-free and lightweight category. First, I would use the cleanser to clean my face, then slap on 3 pumps of the elixir before putting on some toner (with the help of a cotton pad), apply some eye cream and finally on goes the moisturiser.

For me, the star product would definitely has to be their elixir. Upon using it for a month (that is the period of time to judge whether these products are working their magic on your skin), I found that my skin has visibly become brighter and my skin tone seems to be more even. Its like I'm glowing from within, especially at the outer "C" beside my eyes. Even my husband noticed the difference too and believe me when I say he is usually the "you look the same even after a haircut" kind of guy.

It has a nifty pump to expense the products.

As mentioned, I use 3 pumps of the elixir every night as my dry skin soaks up all the product literally after 15 seconds of massaging. I love how lightweight this felt on my skin without weighing my face down like some serums do. You know, that sticky icky heavy feeling you get with some lotions/serums which I just cannot deal with...

Pricing at S$135 (or S$108 for member's price), I'd say its a good bargain as you can expect results in a month's time.

To add on, these products smelt heavenly. The scent is light, a little herbally and has a nice soothing non-overpowering floral note. I 100% wish that all my skincare product smell like these. So good!!!

Well, with that being said (on the lightweight part), for me personally I do wish that the Eye cream and the Moisturiser be a little more hydrating. As I have abnormally dry skin and I sleep in an air conditioned room, I think it would be more beneficial if these 2 products can offer more hydration to my skin.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the Multi-Targeted Elixir if you are looking for a product that is lightweight and can help brightens your complexion in a short period of time.

Lightweight Tinted Sunscreen ~ The Face Inc UV Defense SPF 50 Tinted

With the hot, humid and rainy weather going on in Singapore, I tend to steer away from foundations. It is a torture to wear layers and layers of skincare and makeup products on my face when all my face wanted to do is sweat.

Thus, I welcome The Face Inc UV Defense SPF Tinted with open arms after being informed what the product is.

According to The Face Inc, the UV Defense SPF50 Tinted is:

"An advanced physical tinted sunscreen for protection of the skin against harmful UV rays, prevention of sunburn and photo-damage. Proprietary blend of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide delivers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Vitamin E acts as an anti oxidant and moisturising agent." ~ The Face Inc

It is basically a sunscreen with a tinge of colour to even out your skin tone while providing ingredients that benefits the skin. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it really is.

A glance at the application directions and the ingredients on the box. As you can see, there's instructions to apply the product 15 minutes before exposing yourself to the sun which so many skincare does not include.

For your info, this, my friends, is the proper way to apply sun protecting cream. You need to give the sunscreen a little time to settle in and work its magic before heading outdoors. I call it, the warm up period :D.

The texture of the product is kind of mousse-like, very light weight and easily spreadable. Do note that a little goes a long a way or else you'll get white streaks on your face.

After massaging the product in, the finish is this nice healthy glow with a slight coverage. The sunscreen does not feel heavy on the skin albeit a little tacky though which thankfully did go away after a while.

One more thing to note is the scent of the product. In my personal opinion, I do wish that the smell can be more floral or refreshing. You guys know how I feel about scents in products, anything girly will have me sold instantly.

Currently retailing at $38, do head over to any Sasa outlet to try out the products or head over to Sasa website for more info and to purchase.

2 Steps to Brighter and Clearer Skin with Laneige

Laneige, a very well known Korean brand which is famous for its Sleeping Mask and Cushion Foundation has been deeply rooted around Asia especially Singapore. Their belief has always been providing skincare products that boost radiance and clear supple skin, just like what you see on Korean women.

Well, I must say, after testing out these 2 products, I really think they work wonders on my skin. Read on and I'll show you why.

**Warning: Picture heavy**

The items that I choose are these three (from the left):

1) Pure Radiant Shadow in No.2 Shine Gold
2) Clear C Advanced Effector 150ml
3) White Plus Renew Original Essence_EX

First, let's talk about Laneige Clear C Advanced Effector.

According to the brand, the lotion has:

"Anti-oxidizing super berry extracts for skincare Extracts from acerola cherry and acai berries, super berries with four times’ anti-oxidizing effects of Vitamin C, prevent skin from oxidizing to help you achieve a healthier  appearance. Clean and even brightening care Clear C, Laneige's original essence, contains Melacrusher and super berry extracts, components with 3.5 times’ brightening effect when used together for bright, clear skin." ~ Laneige

This comes with a pump which dispenses the water-based essence nicely. There is a measuring guide at the back of the bottle for your reference on how much product has been dispensed.

What I do with this product is that after cleansing, I'll wet the cotton pad (a box of cotton pad is included together with the item, and do note that the cotton pad is of good quality, score!) with 2.5ml of product and pat it onto my skin according to the instructions given.

Sometimes when I'm feeling a bit luxurious, I'll soak up the entire cotton pad and peel it to several sheets before applying to my entire face like a mask. The scent is extremely soothing (light floral) and I can feel my face drinking up the product like crazy (I'm a dry to normal skin type).

For demonstration purposes, I left the cotton pad on my hand for approximately 5 minutes and if you look closely to the picture above, you can see how dry and cracked the skin on the left was while the skin on the right looked smooth and supple. I can't vote on whether it brightens my skin as I haven't been using it long enough but I do love how my skin felt less tight after application.

The lotion kind of paves the way for subsequent products to be absorbed more effectively. I noticed that my serum and moisturiser require the least amount of spreading effort and they absorb quickly into the skin after the lotion.

My only gripe about this product is I wish they include the "How to use" instruction on the bottle instead of only on the information paper. I mean, I'll definitely throw the paper away after ripping the box. Oh well, that's just me.

Next up is the White Plus Renew Original Essence_EX (wow, that's a mouth full). And I swear that its not my camera having shaky blur problem or playing tricks to your eyes but its the packaging has a reflective interior that makes you see doubles.

According to the brand,

"Laneige Original Essence consists of Melacrusher™ Formula that prevents melanin from setting in, improving melanin levels, evenness, skin brightness, and glow; also contains  green tea polysaccharides that help achieve smooth, moisturized skin, taking you one step closer to the bright, vibrant, and milky complexion of your dreams." ~ Laneige

The bottle comes with a pipet which I love as it helps in avoiding contamination. Makes it easy to dispense product out too.

The lotion is an opaque milky formulation which is emollient for easy spreading on the skin.

As you can see, my skin looks so much clearer and brighter compared to the previous picture before application. I could literally see my face glowing with radiance and it seemed like I have good well-rested skin for days.

After having my baby, I haven't been sleeping very well and my skin has suffered looking all dull and tired. Thus this product helps so much in making me look awake and glow from within. I have high hopes for this product to whiten my skin after prolong use. Fingers crossed.

Well, one thing before we move on to the next product, my skin did felt a bit tacky after application and you need a while for the product to be fully absorbed (i.e. less tacky). However I don't really mind as I sleep in an air conditioned room and the dry air kind of helps quicken the absorption process.

And last but not least, its the stunning Pure Radiant Shadow in No.2 Shine Gold. As usual, I choose this palette is because of its neutral earthy tones.

The colours in the palette are really wearable and they match each other perfectly. With the bottom taupe colour as a base (all over the lid), the lighter cream colour for the inner conner of the eyes, the darker brown colour for the outer corner and a sweep of gold glitter on the top, its the perfect look to pull off from day to night.

What I like about this palette is the eyeshadows are smooth in texture and not powdery. The colours blends smoothly (except for the glitter) and it has adequate pigmentation although 2 swipes is what I'd recommend if you want a nice opaque-ness.

For your reference, the prices for the products are listed below:

1) Pure Radiant Shadow in No.2 Shine Gold ~ SGD$40
2) Clear C Advanced Effector 150ml ~ SGD$56
3) White Plus Renew Original Essence_EX ~ SGD$80

The Most Efficient Skincare Product from The Face Inc

Imagine a Face Primer that tightens your skin in just 15 mins and an Eye Cream that lifts your eyes within 30 seconds.

Wow, that's such an impressive claim.

Introducing the all new Primer Mist and Eye Lift by The Face Inc which states that they can do the above.

A closer look at the products. As you can see, the Primer Mist comes in a set of 3 x 15ml tubes. As for the Eye Lift, they come in a box of 16 x 1ml vials.

According to the Face Inc:

"Primer Mist by The Face Inc is a lightweight hydration face mist that works to smooth and tighten in just 15 seconds, and provides an instant hydration boost of up to 15 times.
This all-in-one formulation gives you all the benefits of priming, hydration and tightening. The Face Inc Primer Mist boosts the skin’s natural hydration with proprietary botanical extracts and a weightless blend of natural moisture preserving ingredients, delivering an all-day moisturised feel and plump appearance.
Created by dermatologists and researchers, Eye Lift's advance formula works by almost immediately restoring lost collagen in your skin. A proprietary blend of botanical extracts enhance the effects of the serum: smooths and tightens skin; reduces dark eye circles and puffiness; reduces inflammation, softens fines lines and wrinkles and noticeably tones the skin. Further infused with peptides, Eye Lift also refines pores, improves skin hydration and boost elasticity."
The Spokesperson for Face Inc is Chris Tong and she has really amazing skin. Yup, we have the honour to see her in person and boy am I smitten by her beauty. She did mentioned how the Eye Lift was her fav as instant result could be seen in reducing her eye bags.

Well, I don't have eye bags (thankfully) thus I couldn't vouch how effective the Eye Lift was in lifting the under eye area. However I do love how emollient the cream is as well as how easily it absorbs into my skin. And I'm happy to report that I did not get any tiny bumps (a result of using products that are too heavy for the eye area) with this product. So far so good I'd say.

When I first use the primer, I was intrigued by the nifty packaging that requires some twisting to reveal its nozzle spray. A carefully thought product indeed as it prevents users from accidentally pressing down onto it.

A clear watery substance is dispensed upon spritzing. I spritz 3 times onto my face: the forehead area and each side of the cheeks. Then I gently massage the product into my skin for absorption. I wish the size of droplet could be smaller though to save me the time and hassle of working the products into the skin.

I did felt tightening around my cheek area after the product is fully absorbed. Although I did not see reduction of my pores, I'm happy to report that my foundation stayed on pretty well when I used this primer.

Another thing that I like about this primer that is incredibly light weight (because its water based) and I did not feel any greasiness/stickiness on the skin. This is important to me for a primer because when you are living in hot humid country, you really don't want anything that's sticky and suffocating.

I honestly think that The Face Inc has some really cool and effective products and I'm glad these 2 were introduced into my life. I would personally repurchase the primer should it run out. Its also pretty affordable at the price of $58.80 (45ml).

Do head over to any SASA outlet or click on these 2 websites: Qoo10 and Lazada.

3 Reasons Why I Love Bottega Verde Latest Splendida Range

Ever since my first encounter with the brand, I have taken a liking to their products, be it the vast range of products under their wing or simply the quality of them.

Was super excited when I got the chance to preview Bottega Verde's newly launched Splendida range.

Splendida is targeted towards women (and men) who is looking for an anti-aging and anti-oxidation solution.

Bottega Verde claims that the Splendida range:

"has numerous aims: preventing loss of freshness, moisturising more efficiently, fighting the first signs of ageing, protecting the skin from pollution and achieving a new bright and radiant beauty. It was created for women in their thirties, when life is at its most demanding and the skin begins to lose its resilience against stress and tiredness, providing a complete programme to defend their youth. "

Here we have the First Wrinkles Anti-ageing Face Gel Cream. It is suitable for combination to oily skin as its light in texture and easily absorbed into the skin. If you want a product that doesn't sits on your skin and feels like next-to-nothing, then this would be great.

Of course we have to cater for the other end of the spectrum. The First Wrinkles Anti-ageing Face Cream has a texture that is thicker in consistency (its a cream duh) and is absolutely perfect for normal to dry skin, which in my case is ideal.

Have been using this for the past few days and I've got to say, I really like how moisturising it is to counter my dry patches on my chin. As I have normal to dry skin, I wouldn't spread it across the top half of my face as its a bit too heavy, so just the bottom half will do and they work wonders to my dehydrated skin.

This is a surprise product from the range, the Protective and Smoothing Face Primer, SPF25. Who would have thought that a primer (normally a makeup item) would be included into a skincare range.

The primer is pretty decent and did what a primer is meant to do by prolonging the longevity of my foundation.

As you can see, it doesn't leave any white cast or any sheen on the skin (you wouldn't want to look like a disco ball, would you?). The product does not have that slippery feeling (hate the slimy feeling that some primers have) and its easily spreadable. Nice one.

Last but not least is Brightening Anti-Wrinkle Eye Care which is loaded with Vitamin E and B5. What I do like about this product is shown below.

Would you just look at the nifty packaging? o_O Its a squeezy tube with a flat applicator which ease spreading of the eye cream under the eye area.

The product absorbs fairly quickly with a few tap under the eye. It does have a brightening effect and my skin did felt supple after application.

A little gripe is that you need both hands to squeeze the tube in order to get products out as it requires a bit of effort.

----------------------------------

And here are the 3 reasons that I adore this collection and I urge you to go check them out at the stores:

1. It contains an exotic ingredient: Sicilian Barbary Fig Extract
This ingredient is extracted from a type of Cactus found in Mexico which packs a bunch of anti-oxidant (due to its high content of Vitamin E). Thus, you can totally imagine how great the anti-ageing properties are from this collection.

2. It smells wonderful.
If you know me, I'm sure it comes to no surprise that I absolutely cannot stay away from skincare products that smell heavenly. And this product is totally up my alley. Thanks to one of its ingredients, Magnolia, the scent has this garden refreshing white flower fragrance that perks me up whenever I use it.

3. Its freaking affordable.
As with all products from Bottega Verde, the prices for the these products are inexpensive. Perfect for students or those on a tight budget that want a powerful skincare product but doesn't want to splurge too much.

On a side note, here are some new hair care products from the left: Hair Neutraliser - Hair Fluid and BB Hair Cream.

These former aimed to provide shine, volume and body to the hair while the latter works on de-frizzing, nourishes, revitalises the hair. I've been using fluid after bathing and the BB cream every morning while getting ready to work.

Do head over to Suntec City L2-454 (North Wing) and Punggol Waterway Point L1-56 to give the products a try. Or you can now order directly online at Lazada.com.

Huge thanks to Adjectif Co and Bottega Verde for your generosity. ^_^
