My Top 5 Favourite New Products from Watson

If you'd follow me on Instagram, you might know that I was invited to attend a Watson event which showcases all the new products that are going to be sold in store.

Check them out below...

So before we get into listing all the products above, I'll show you my top 5 favourites from this bunch.

Secret Day Miss Charlotte M Size 14 Pieces Sanitary Pad

Koreans really do know how to make things better by adding that touch of elegance, I mean just look at the pink girly packaging. I like it when these ladies pad are all thin and sleek, like you are not wearing a thing. Thus, these babies are actually really comfortable to wear for that time of the month.

Lactacare Daily Probiotic Supplement

In case you are not familiar with the term Probiotics, it is actually referring to microorganisms that are believe to provide health benefits when consumed, aka Easy Poop. You can bet that I've been consistently hitting the toilet after taking this supplement daily >.<

BlanX White Shock Powder White Treatment

This Italian made toothpaste and LED device is said to let you achieve whiter teeth without being abrasive and peroxide free. Sure indeed, I did not experience any gum sensitivity when using it and I like that it only took 60 seconds for the LED device to work its magic.

Lion Kyusoku Relaxing Leg Care Range

I've got to admit that I have like the driest, crack-iest (is that even a word?) and the most miserable looking heels ever. Thus, after using the heel mask, I felt that my skin did replenished some of its moisture. I won't say it 100% heals my heel after 1 use, but I can see the improvement on the dry-ness of my skin.

I do like the coolness of the gel pad for the calf too. Totally soothe my aching muscle after a long day of standing and walking.

Kinohimitsu UV Bright Grape Seed Extract (OPC)

Kinohimitsu is not a stranger brand to Singapore market as they are well known for their collagen drinks and other supplement. I kind of like how the UV Bright taste, just like grape juice or Qoo (if you love drinking Qoo you'll know what I mean). Although I couldn't vouch for the effectiveness towards Whitening and Fairness of the skin (10 bottles is definitely not enough to make a difference in my opinion), I do sense that my skin's clarity has improved immensely. My skin really did have this glow-from-within effect after consuming the whole box. Thumbs up from me.

So now, onto the others

Schwarszkopf Beology Repair Oil Serum

Suncut UV Protect Spray SPF 50+ PA++++ (this stuff is good too because I prefer my sunscreen to be lightweight and easy to apply although it does have a light sunscreen scent)

Jorubi Aloe Vera Moisturizing Lotion (if you are experiencing a dry skin day or maybe minor sun burn, do give this a try as its cooling and moisturising)

Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate (love the subtle floral fragrance and its not too heavy on the skin at all)

Makeup Items: Max Factor Velvet Matte Lipstick, Wet and Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick, Clematis Lipstick and Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Eye Liner (my holy grail currently as it doesn't smudge easily)

Naturals by Watsons Macadamia Hand Cream Rejuvenating

Get it Beauty Celabrity Aqua Mask (really liking the amount the products/lotion that comes with it, sufficient to rub it all over my body, my skin felt tight after the products is absorbed too)

Do head over to Watson to have a look at the products or to purchase.

Inglot's Latest Collections

When you talk about a makeup brand with tons of colour choices and an assortment of products, besides MAC Cosmetics, I think of Inglot.

This brand has been killing it lately with their beautiful new releases and I am fortunate enough to be invited to their preview event last month (apologies for the delay).

The latest nail polish range is called Ms Butterfly O2M Breathable Nail Enamel. How aptly named as these colours are just as beautiful as the colours on the butterfly wings.

My pick has got to be these colours but I do highly recommend the purple one has it has a smoother application with minimal streakiness. I love the brush applicator as its an adequate width to cover half of my finger nails, making application easy.

Next, we have the absolutely stunning and breathtaking Aquastic Cream Eye Shadow. Believe me guys, this collection TO-DIE-FOR!!! I was sooooo tempted to buy each and everyone of it. They look so amazing in the tube.

Apologies for the ugly swatches. Trying to be creative but failed miserably. But no matter how hideous looking the swatch pattern is, the colours are still gorgeous.

Inglot Aquastic Cream Eye Shadow is a water-based product which ensures good longevity (read smudge proof) but easy to remove even with plain water. The finish is gorgeous with its metallic sheen and believe it or not, all the above are just 1 swipe. No worries about pigmentation ^_^.

And here are some of the newer eyeshadow colours for your reference. To be honest, I don't really fancy the bright colours as I'm a coward when it comes to eyeshadow. Earthy brown neutral tones are my best friends.

These babies came home with me: Aquastic Cream Eyeshadow in No.13 and No. 15 (which is the 3rd and 5th swatches from the top), Quad Colour Face Powder and a Blush Brush.

Personally, I wouldn't say that the brush quality is of fantastic quality (starts shedding on me before I even start washing it), however, you really do have to check out their cream eyeshadow. Its a phenomenal product without much fuss. Huge thumbs up.

Do head over to JEM Robinson Level 1 and Raffles City Robinson Level 1 to give the products a go.

Huge thanks to Inglot Singapore for your generosity. ^_^

Shu Uemura Murukami Collection

So the other day when I saw this collection on Instagram I knew I have to get it. Its the Shu Uemura Murukami and seldom this brand excites me with this much intensity.

Here's my loot.

Trying hard to be artsy fartsy with the gem biscuits.

So I got their Rouge Bloom lipstick which is a bright red in the tube but when swatched, it is this sheer true red with a sheen. Really love that the intensity of the colour is not in-your-face and it is buildable to your liking.

A little close up on the art work. Looking at it makes me happy somehow ^_^.

Next in my basket is this Protective Moisture Primer in Beige to counteract my reddish skin tone. The texture of the product is really emollient and spread easily on my skin.

Best thing of all is that my skin love this stuff and immediately laps up the product. Another feature of this product that tickles my fancy is how lightweight this feels on my skin. Its literally like I'm wearing nothing. Plus, this primer has SPF 50 PA+++ thus if you are in a hurry, you can totally skip your sunscreen and apply this straight. Anything that saves time is in good books with me.

Last item I got from the collection is their Clarifying Cleansing Oil. I have always been a fan of their oil as they don't sting my eyes and rid my face thoroughly of makeup. However along the way in my beauty adventure I side tracked and tried other brands to see if there are other alternatives out there. Hence you can imagine how excited I was to come back to this signature product. Definitely looking forward to give it a go. And can we just take a moment to admire the beautiful flowery bottle!?

I really love the collection as a whole (although I didn't get much but these 3 items are enough to impress me). Its a fun and unique collection that caters towards the younger generation. Do check them out at their counters.

Tarte Limited Edition Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Swatches & Review

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this Tarte Color Wheel Blush Palette is "I Must Have It, Like RIGHT NOW!!!"

Imagine the convenience of having 10 blushes in a single palette which is compact and with a pretty packaging. I can haz blush for dayzzzzz.....

And so, for the benefit of my readers, I decided to dip my fingers into the palette and swatch the heck out of it so that you have an idea how they are like.

The swatches in its full glory, from top to bottom:

1. Mod
2. Deco
3. Surreal
4. Culture
5. Idol
6. Ironic
7. Crafty
8. Concept
9. Icon
10. Montage

A better look here from top to bottom:

1. Mod
2. Deco
3. Surreal
4. Culture
5. Idol
6. Ironic
7. Crafty
8. Concept
9. Icon
10. Montage

I'm going to go into detail with the colour and texture of each individual blush as they somehow fared inconsistently with good and lacking ones in terms of colour payoff and texture.

From the top 12 o'clock position, clockwise: Mod, Deco, Surreal, Culture, Idol

From the top: Mod, Deco, Surreal, Culture, Idol

Mod
In the pan - A dusky coral with brown tones

Colour Payoff - Not as pigmented, took me 4 swatches to get to this colour on my wrist

Deco
In the pan - A bright reddish coral
Swatched - True to pan
Texture - Patchy and uneven
Colour Payoff - Quite alright, 2 swatches to get a good opacity.

Surreal
In the pan - A bright cool pink
Swatched - Baby pink
Texture - Smooth
Colour Payoff - Not as pigmented, took me 4 swatches to get to this colour on my wrist

Crafty

Concept

Colour Payoff - Fairly pigmented with 3 swatches needed to get to this colour

Icon
In the pan - A light mauve red

Colour Payoff - Fairly pigmented with 3 swatches needed to get to this colour

Montage
In the pan - A deep pink
Swatched - A warm soft red
Texture - Smooth
Colour Payoff - Pigmented

Overall, I was really confused with this palette. I wanted to love it totally and whole heartedly but the performance of the palette makes me hesitant. There are hits and misses with the consistency and pigmentation of the product with the discrepancy of colour tones between seen in the pan and when swatched.

I really like the variety of highlighters and blush in a single palette however if you look closely, you'll notice some similar shades within this palette. I wish Tarte could have included a wider range of blush colour shades so that it could be a truly wonderful 10 colour blush palette with a variety of colours to choose from.

I wouldn't give this palette a high rating but would I recommend someone to buy this? It will be Of Course. Reason is that its a budget friendly palette with 10 x 2.4g blushes and highlighters for you to pick. No worries for "What blush should I wear today?" dilemma ^_^.

K-Palette Bulgarian Rose Eyeliner Review | ad

Hello my lovely ladies (and gentlemen ^_^)!!! Its been a while since I last blogged as life is getting crazier as my tummy grew bigger and with all the house moving going on. But I'm so happy to be back, FINALLY!!!

Moving on to the product for today...

If you have been a long time reader of mine, you'll know my love for K-Palette eyeliners are undying. So you can totally imagine my happiness and excitement when Beauty Carousel offered to send me the latest K-Palette Bulgarian Rose Eyeliner.

First, let's talk about the packaging shall we?

Clad in purple-y pink and adorned with gold foiling roses, my heart totally flutters when I saw the eyeliner. And don't get me start with the gold cap and black rose embossment, this pen is totally girly and feminine.

What they claim:
Bulgarian Rose Water is often used in hydrating products due to its moisturising properties and its ability to control our skin's sebum production. According to many eyeliner users, oily lids are a common cause of their runny or smudgy eye make-up. To counter that, K-Palette has decided to infuse this premium ingredient into its formula to keep our eyelids well-moisturised and hence reduce the tendency for them to turn oily.

The colour sent to me is in Brown Black and upon swatched, its more of a dark brown on me. Its after several swipes (colour is buildable) that the colour turns deeper into a brown black. I like this colour on my lids as its not too bold and offensive like stark black does nor is it too casual and airy such as brown does to me.

As with all K-Palette eyeliners, the staying power of this one is tremendously long (hence why I always buy and reach out for my K-Palettes whenever I know I'm going to be out all day). Its extremely water proof, smudge free and lasted from morning to night on me. Although I must mention that my eye lids are not that oily, but I love how the liner stays put on me. And don't worry, there isn't any hint of rose smelling substance on the liner for those who are sensitive to fragrance.

Per usual, its a huge thumbs up from me and I would recommend 100% to anybody who is looking for a powerful eyeliner that will not budge throughout the day.

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow Fluid Foundation | Review

Pardon me for my inactivity here on my blog as I was crazy busy, preparing for both my wedding and new home. Although I try to scale down the size of the wedding to a simple one, I still find the many little bits and bobs that needs to be done irritating. Can't wait for this whole thing to end. Seriously. Once is enough :P

So, onto the more interesting the part of the post, my thoughts on Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow Fluid Foundation.

I have heard mixed reviews about this product. Some liked it light and easy to apply while others hate its short longevity and not-really-there-coverage. Thus, this was often used as a primer instead of a foundation. However, I like mine on the lighter coverage hence using this BG as my foundation was good enough. Thus, this review is my impression of BG as a foundation.

First thing off, I do like the packaging. Its compact and looks durable with the pastel cover and straight forward wording on top.

I chose the colour 2 Clair/Light (am a MAC NW20) which suits perfectly on my skin.

Another thing which is a plus point is it comes in a pump and not your normal squeezey tube thingy. This alleviates the impression that Guerlain did put some thoughts into their packaging.

This pea size amount comes from half a pump. The product itself packs a ton of colour and is emollient enough to blend.

After blending it out with my fingers, you can still definitely see some pore peeking thru thus its a light to medium coverage. I wouldn't say its buildable as the formulation doesn't seem to allow it to do so. True to its name, the finish is not entirely matte as there is some luminosity hanging around without the shimmer (pardon me as the camera is unable to pick it up). I like how light weight it felt on the skin with no signs of caking.

Now here comes the gripe, the longevity is indeed crap. Oxidisation (the sign of darkening) can be seen after a meer 5 hours mark. Was sorely disappointed as I already am liking the whole outlook of this product being light weight and giving me that healthy glow. Oh well, nothing is perfect I guess (ahem, not including Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua which is my ultimate holy grail).

Apart from the allowable duration of wear, I really liked this product. Maybe one day, I might use it as a primer instead to see how it holds up with other foundation. I wouldn't say its a must-have product, but its nice to have it in your stash as a last minute slap-it-on-and-go product without a fuss, plus it smells good too ^_^

Shu Uemura Poreraser CC UV Under Base Mousse | Review

I attended Shu Uemura's workshop a while back (okay, maybe way way back) and was introduced to this product which claims to provide a flawless smooth canvas-like finish to the skin. Boy was I intrigued and did a little testing on the face. Immediately I was convinced to bring one home with me.

Shu Uemura Poreraser CC UV Under Base Mouse in pink with SPF 35PA+++ is said to give a rosy complexion for dullness or yellowing skin. We were also told that the pink version actually brightens up your complexion, giving you that radiant healthy glow-from-within skin like never before.

And yes, they were so right about the brightening part.

True to its product name, the product comes out foamy with a tinge of beige. Do be cautious when pumping out the product because with a little pressure dispense adequate amount for the entire face.

When spread out with a sponge, you really couldn't see the coverage but pores are smoothen out and the skin seemed to appear lighter and more even textured. I really like that subtle luminosity that it gives thus providing a radiant and healthy glow-from-within when used before foundation.

My liquid foundation seemed to be noticeably longer-lasting and oxidation occurred after only after 8 hours (which is a 6 if I don't use any primer). I also like how light weight it felt on the skin and also how easily it blends evenly on my face.

Overall, I love this stuff but it would be even better if I can use my fingers to spread instead of makeup sponge (you know, laziness and all) when I'm in a rush for time. Kudos to SU for coming up with such an innovative product.
