Beauty: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

I've been putting off writing this post as I know it really requires much time to pent all my thoughts about this product into words. So here goes but nothing...

One Word: Awesome!!!

This product, the most iconic and timeless skincare Holy Grail of many, the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is just wonderful and effective. Many swear by it and I'm too jumping on the Bandwagon (although a tad too late) that this cream is definitely a life saviour.

If you look closely enough, you'll notice that one of its active ingredient is Petrolatum (and with a whooping 56.8% of it). And before you start freaking out about slapping petrol onto your skin, you should check out its official website about the explanation of its ingredient as well as this website to know more about Beta Hydroxy (Petrolatum for the skin).

For me, I used this cream mostly on any dry areas on my body (Lips, cuticles, in-between fingers, heels, ankles, knees, elbows, shin...) and it shows results in matter of days. My skin has never been softer and I couldn't help but thank Elizabeth for creating this miracle-in-a-bottle.

For the complete usage of where you can slap this baby on (taken from the official site), or how you should use it (believe it or not, it can used as a highlighter o_O and I do admit that it does give some sort of a sheen to areas applied) please see below:
1. SKIN SAVER – Protect skin from drying wind, central heating and air conditioning. This skincare multi-tasker soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve minor skin irritations, including roughness, redness, chapped, cracked or dry skin.
2. SHINE FACTOR – Found in top makeup artists’ kits worldwide, this all-in-one beauty tool adds shine to eyelids, cheeks, lips and legs.
3. EYE OPENER – All it takes is a dab to smooth eyebrows and create a perfectly defined arch that will stay in place all day.
4. CUTICLE CONDITIONER – Soften rough, dry cuticles to keep them smooth, supple and beautifully manicured.
5. TREAT FOR FEET – Smooth rough heels and soften soles for barefoot beauty in every season.
6. AFTER-SUN SOOTHER – With its legendary soothing and moisturizing benefits, it’s the ideal after-sun treatment to relieve minor sunburn and calm dry, irritated sun-exposed skin.
7. FLIGHT TOOL – Flying can leave skin looking and feeling dry and uncomfortable. Pack this intensive hydrator to boost skin’s in-flight moisture level wherever you go.
8. LEG WEAR – Great for an après shave or après wax treatment. This classic cream calms irritation, reduces redness and leaves legs super-smooth and silky-soft.

But one thing that puts me off about this product is the smell. It smells strongly of herbs. Those, really traditional kind of herbs and it lingers for a couple of hours. However, if looking past that (why oh why Elizabeth do you not put in some fragrance in your product) this product is a must-have in your vanity.

If I'm not mistaken, the 8 Hour Cream retails at S$40 for 50g of product. Well worth the money I'd say.

Have you tried this cream before? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
