My Beauty Diary Masks: Bird's Nest

Well, as some of you may know, Bird's Nest are made from Swallow's saliva. Yup, you read it right. The secretion from a bird's mouth may be the last thing that you might want to put on your face, but trust me, it contains all the beauty properties you might need for looking radiant (although some scientific research proved that bird's nest may not contain any beneficial substance, but oh well, we Chinese had been consuming this expensive delicacy since.. oooh... I don't know when..)

Thus, this mask was slightly intriguing as I always wonder what would bird's nest smells like. But trust me, the mask smells anything but saliva and I guess that its due to the ingredients that the manufacturing added in that mask off the unpleasant.

So according the packaging, this mask could help in locking in moisture and smooth fine facial lines. Not only that, the mask is said to brightens dull skin and introduce firmness to slagging skin. Sound promising.

And true to its word, I do feel that my skin brightens noticeably after just one application. I'd noticed that my face looked less yellowish and there seem to be a nice radiance going on. Its just surprises my so that finally, a mask that does as it promises. Thumbs up.

I really do recommend this mask out of all My Beauty Diary Masks. But if you are looking for something that smells good and relaxing, then give this mask a skip. But if you are like me looking for a quick fix to brighten up your face before putting on makeup or going out, then this would be for you.

My Beauty Diary Red Vine Mask

If you are wondering, I do have a whole stack of assorted My Beauty Diary Masks. Got them in Taiwan and they come in a box with various masks of different ingredients and assorted scent.

So, this time its the Red Vine Masks (beats me why its called Vine instead of Wine, I mean, its written 酒 in chinese which meant wine). But I do like the packaging as its pink and purple-ish.

Wanted to capture the ingredients and its benefits, but somehow the glossy packaging impedes my intention, thus this crappy shot. Anyway, it claims to fight aging skin, reclaim skin radiance, brightens the skin, moisturises at the same time tightens the skin.

However, I would like to differ as I felt nothing of those except for the moisturising part where tons of products are packed onto the mask, making it possible for longer application (I'd say about 20 minutes with the fan blowing into my face)

I didn't quite like the scent though. It has this tinge of red wine scent but more of a chemical whiff coming on strongly. If you don't mind the scent, then this is worth puchasing.

Hey maybe it works for you ^_^

My Beauty Diary Mask Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask

So, if you are an avid reader of mine, you do know that my general feelings towards My Beauty Diary masks are that they are really wet with tons of products on the mask sheet. As for their after-effects towards the skin, they are just kinda 'meh'

The same goes to this mask. Although it smells great (these range of masks always smells awesome which I kinda enjoy a lot), I really don't see much difference (or is it just me being picky?). On the packaging, it claims that its able to brighten, soothe iration and tighten the skin. I do feel the tightening effect for approx 2 1/2 hour but after that, its back to normal baby.

You know, I don't really need to do the reviews on My Beauty Diary Masks as they basically smell great, soak in tons of products but without too much effect on the skin.

Star Rating: 6.5* / 10*

**P/s: Always remember to not waste the product by applying the leftover products (on the piece of paper, in the packaging and on the used mask) to the other parts of your body especially the elbows, the underarms and the knees**

My Beauty Diary, Sake Yeast Mask

Before I start reviewing this mask, I'm going to apologize for the crappy photography that comes with this post. Blame the camera I would.

So, I'd bought a box with a variety the mask of My Beauty Diary in Taiwan (uber cheap there, approximately S$12, but you can still get them here in Malaysia and Singapore) and am enthusiastic in trying all of them out (except for the snail mask... eeewwww... even the name sound gross). The 1st one to try is this sake yeast mask.

When it comes to My Beauty Diary masks, the 1st thing that comes to my mind is that they are super wet. I don't mean that they leave your skin all moist and so, but its just that when you slap it on your face, you can feel that tons of product had been injected into the mask.

The description stated that this mask is great for exfoliating and at the same time has some sort of brightening effect as well as moisturises your skin (alright, my shitty Chinese translation needs more practice). The smell of the mask ain't that bad, really. I kinda forgot how it smells like but I know I didn't felt repulsive towards it.

Actually, I didn't feel much difference after applying the mask. I mean, my face felt quite sticky after the application (well, it happens with every My Beauty Diary masks) but to mention if there is any significant changes to the skin, the answer is no. Brightnening effect? No, not really. But I definitely do enjoy the leftover products on my mask and on the sheet of paper that comes with it. Excellent for applying it all over my body. And the mask is kind of on the larger side, and I'm saying this on the perspective of having a large face.

On a good note, this mask does feel cooling on the skin, thus maybe one with sun burn or similar may try this (well, make sure you test it out on the hand and check whether you have any allergic reaction to this mask 1st before you wanna ruin your whole face)
