Beauty: Lippies Galore

A simple post to show you what I've got on my lips which I'm rotating between day by day. If I must say, between lipgloss, lipsticks and lip stain, I still prefer the formulation and application of lipsticks.

Lipgloss sometimes annoys me with its stickiness and attracting my hair always. Lip stains can be too overpowering with its opaque-city (although I do enjoy its staying power) and sometimes to bleed into my fine lines. Lipsticks are like my go-to if I want to look good. Formulations of lipsticks nowadays are so creamy and less drying which makes it ideal for a plump succulent lips without compromising on color.

Beauty: Caudalie Beauty Elixir Review

Holy Moly, that was the 1st impression I had when my face was glistened (or drenched wtf) with the elixir. It was nothing I had ever used before. Avene Thermal Spring Water, Bio-essence Miracle Bio Water, Lush Tea Tree Water (although still remains one of my favourite for spotty days) and The Body Shop Vitamin E Mist all pales in comparison.

What Caudalie Claims:
Inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, Caudalie Beauty Elixir smoothes features, tightens pores, and gives the complexion a burst of radiance. An excellent base for make-up, this water awakens the skin in the morning and livens it up before a night out.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a favourite of Victoria Beckham's - she uses it on top of her make-up for a glowing complexion!

Skin solution: For all skins lacking radiance. Caudalie Beauty Elixir is an exceptional anti-dull complexion treatment and a wonderful after-shave for men.

Main ingredients: Grape, orange blossom, rose, organic balm mint and rosemary.

True to its words, my skin felt tight, smooth and surprisingly glowy!!! When I'm just too lazy to slap on any other products on the skin, I just spritz my whole face with this (tons of it in fact), then I'm good to go. Its moisturising enough and yet has the capabilities to smooth out my complexion (hello small pores). Its refreshing and invigorating (thanks to its herbal scent and tingling sensation) makes it perfect for warmer days and sleepy afternoons.

I use this mostly as my skincare routine and after applying makeup. Sometimes, I do use this to treat my sun-burn skin although I wouldn't say it has tremendous effect in cooling it.

To be honest, if it weren't for Victoria Beckham, I wouldn't have splurged on this elixir as it comes with a whooping price tag of S$22 for only 30ml whereas its counterparts are much more affordable (think $20 for 2 bottles of 100ml Bio-essence Miracle Bio Water).

However, I would still rather spend my moolah on this baby as it does something to my skin. And I do mean something and not just mere cooling water effect.

Do I recommend it you ask? Hell Yah!!!!

Beauty: Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

First of all, I just want to tell you guys how much I love love love this awesome product. Its the Clarisonic for the face. Ever since I'd used this, my skin has never been better.

What this does is that you use it together with a foam cleanser (had used it with Neutrogena, Lancome, Benefit Foaming Cleansers) and with a click of the button, you just let the brush do its job.

What it claims:
With one finger on the pulse of technology and another on that of skincare, Clarisonic knows a thing or two about antiaging techniques. The development team, led by the primary inventor of the cutting-edge Sonicare® toothbrush, is committed to creating new ways to shed years off your skin. The easy-to-use daily devices use advanced sonic technology for results that are nothing short of impressive. Power on a Clarisonic tool and see for yourself why spas, celebrities, and dermatologists swear by their unmatched benefits.

True to it's claim, my skin felt so clean and my blemishes reduce significantly. Its something about the rotating brush that makes sure no skin is un-covered. A push of the button allows 1 minute of brushing and you just move this baby across your skin without doing too much work.

My only gripe about this product that the brush head that comes with the Clarisonic is a normal one (they have a brush for sensitive skin) and I felt that my skin felt tender after using it. Oh, not forgetting that the price is on the higher side too.

However, if you ask me whether I regretted buying the Clarisonic, the answer is NO. I would still purchase it as it does tons of benefit to my skin in making my skin so clear that its worth every single penny.

So, if you have the money to spare, go ahead and try it. You'll definitely be able to notice the difference in your skin after using it. :)

Beauty: Little Black Beauty Box July 2014

If you have followed this blog closely enough, you'll know my obsession with this little black box which ain't little at all. Packed full of goodies, I always waited impatiently for the box to arrive to surprise me.

Engined by MediaCorp Singapore's Stylish website Stylexstyle (and founded by Artist Sharon Au), this month's did not disappoint either as it was filled with Skincare and Makeup items that have substantial stand in the beauty-sphere. What's more, it only costs S$22.90.

Very nice packaging as usual...

Philosophy Miracle Worker Anti-aging Moisturiser, Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturising Oil, Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara, SKII Facial Treatment Clear Lotion, SKII Facial Treatment Essence (I remembered that I love this product so much when I was in Japan), Shiseido Revitalizing Essence, Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturising Conditioner and Shampoo, Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream, Laneige Water Bank Essence, Guerlain Super Aqua Serum Light (this is good stuff, light weight and floral scented) and MAC Foundation.

What I love about this month's box is that the theme focuses on rejuvenating your soul and body as well as loving yourself more, thus the extravagant amount of serum and moisturisers included (ok, maybe I exaggerated a little). But I just love the products that they included inside and they are so kind enough to include complimentary vouchers for us subscribers to pamper ourselves with massages and makeovers.

The only downside of these boxes are that you can't subscribe to them for a few months in one go (as most beauty boxes does) hence the constant need to remind oneself to visit their website at least a few times a month (to check whether they have anything new in store and they sold-out pretty quickly) to subscribe for the following month's box. I think its a marketing strategy to encourage people to visit their website -__-'''

Anyhoe.... Go check it out if you are in the Singapore region and are interested in sampling different high end beauty products whilst not splurging too much money. Free shipping for all orders. Click here...

Beauty: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

I've been putting off writing this post as I know it really requires much time to pent all my thoughts about this product into words. So here goes but nothing...

One Word: Awesome!!!

This product, the most iconic and timeless skincare Holy Grail of many, the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is just wonderful and effective. Many swear by it and I'm too jumping on the Bandwagon (although a tad too late) that this cream is definitely a life saviour.

If you look closely enough, you'll notice that one of its active ingredient is Petrolatum (and with a whooping 56.8% of it). And before you start freaking out about slapping petrol onto your skin, you should check out its official website about the explanation of its ingredient as well as this website to know more about Beta Hydroxy (Petrolatum for the skin).

For me, I used this cream mostly on any dry areas on my body (Lips, cuticles, in-between fingers, heels, ankles, knees, elbows, shin...) and it shows results in matter of days. My skin has never been softer and I couldn't help but thank Elizabeth for creating this miracle-in-a-bottle.

For the complete usage of where you can slap this baby on (taken from the official site), or how you should use it (believe it or not, it can used as a highlighter o_O and I do admit that it does give some sort of a sheen to areas applied) please see below:
1. SKIN SAVER – Protect skin from drying wind, central heating and air conditioning. This skincare multi-tasker soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve minor skin irritations, including roughness, redness, chapped, cracked or dry skin.
2. SHINE FACTOR – Found in top makeup artists’ kits worldwide, this all-in-one beauty tool adds shine to eyelids, cheeks, lips and legs.
3. EYE OPENER – All it takes is a dab to smooth eyebrows and create a perfectly defined arch that will stay in place all day.
4. CUTICLE CONDITIONER – Soften rough, dry cuticles to keep them smooth, supple and beautifully manicured.
5. TREAT FOR FEET – Smooth rough heels and soften soles for barefoot beauty in every season.
6. AFTER-SUN SOOTHER – With its legendary soothing and moisturizing benefits, it’s the ideal after-sun treatment to relieve minor sunburn and calm dry, irritated sun-exposed skin.
7. FLIGHT TOOL – Flying can leave skin looking and feeling dry and uncomfortable. Pack this intensive hydrator to boost skin’s in-flight moisture level wherever you go.
8. LEG WEAR – Great for an après shave or après wax treatment. This classic cream calms irritation, reduces redness and leaves legs super-smooth and silky-soft.

But one thing that puts me off about this product is the smell. It smells strongly of herbs. Those, really traditional kind of herbs and it lingers for a couple of hours. However, if looking past that (why oh why Elizabeth do you not put in some fragrance in your product) this product is a must-have in your vanity.

If I'm not mistaken, the 8 Hour Cream retails at S$40 for 50g of product. Well worth the money I'd say.

Have you tried this cream before? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
