Whenever I'm in doubt as to where to eat, this will be my go to place. Its dishes never once failed me and I absolutely love their dishes, especially the ever famous herbal roast duck, which is superbly finger-licking good.
Another winner would be the XO stir fried string beans with minced meat. Aaaahhhh... The slight spicy crunchy string beans with the fragrant minced meat is such a delight to eat. The taste reminded me of fried kangkung belacan, which happens to be my favourite.
However, the sweet and sour fried pork is kind of a disappointment. The pungent sourish vinegar (we even know that its laden with vinegar instead of lemon) sauce coated the fried pork which makes consumption difficult. It has to go with rice in order for smooth eating. Quite exaggerating isn't it? But its the truth. I would recommend to give this a miss.
The Mongolian Spare Ribs is another highlight of the night. The sauce tasted quite similar to black pepper with the addition of meagre sweetness. The spare rib meat isn't that tough but not too tender that it falls straight off the bone, a bit of chewing is required which I much prefered. Excellent. Lap this up in a minute.
That's Chicken (pork!?) floss coated prawns. This dish isn't on the regular menu and is only available on the CNY menu. The portion is freaking huge and I just love how light the batter is. Although it sways to the dry side, but I still think that its a great standout when all the other dishes are sauce laden.
And the one above, is what I want to give a huge shout out to. I F**king love you, herbal roast duck!!! Succulent meat, sweet-ish herbal sauce is just heaven.... **singing mode** Like the Singaporean would say "Die die must try"
Dinner overall rating: 8.5*/10*
